The "irrational asymmetry" in threat behavior
We've traditionally thought about defense through the lens of a financially motivated attacker or a nation state — predictable rewards. Open it to everyone and it's: "I don't know why the heck they're hacking us."
Lulz? Hacktivism? Political motivation? Could be anything. Threat actor motivations that could be considered "irrational" by traditional measures aren't something many are thinking through.
