Becoming CEO

The goal of a founder is to do everything. The goal of a CEO is to do nothing.

While I’ve operated as the principal of a number of successful businesses before, Bugcrowd is my first go around as founder/CEO of a high-velocity venture backed startup.

One of the learnings I wasn’t prepared for, but am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of, is the transition from founder to CEO.

The two roles require very similar things in terms of vision, communication, recruitment, salesmanship, and financial acumen; but the tactical requirements are almost polar opposite from each other.
