Treasure

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. – Matthew 6:21

I believe in this as a universal truth. It’s a bit like gravity - You can argue and disagree with it all you like, but once you're done it still seems to be there… It's not a statement of dogma, but the essence of a truth that ends up looking more like physics than philosophy when you really dig into it.

Treasure is usually thought of in terms of money – but given how the West uses money it could just as easily be traded to apply to time, attention, effort, and all sorts of things. So here’s the challenge…

This statement is as true in reverse is it is in it’s original form. Your heart (as in, what your truly value in a way that is pure, true, and fully integrated with who you are) directs your treasure. Does what you say line up wth what you do?

The concept applies as powerfully to business and budgets as it does to personal time/attention management.
